Friday, July 24th, 2009One small white pill for sunlight, another for vegtable and yet a third for the shells of sea cochroaches, there is no pill for fog tumbled over the city, or for street lamps that poke out like her leg from the blankets…
He used to hear “lets conquer the world, but first take a little nap” absurd nap times have given way to activities and now this back is hard and well detailed like a fine picture but there are no inconvenient nap times, or euphemism for sex and sleep, but all day hikes with striking views of a small town spread out around the water, oil slicks feed suspicious looking kelp, sea plants like the feces of people looking at echo porn, he’s got too much time on his hands, like chalk and sore muscles, or rust colored mistakes, machines of joy and grace forgotten salty in the harbor, the most beautiful industrial waste, a gleaming beach and seagulls.
Something Awkward
Thursday, July 23rd, 2009Serious Time
Monday, July 20th, 2009Old age storm crows wing their way over to tell me to slow down and keep my legs,
bank deposit bone slips worm their way through femur and Achilles to let me know I’m over drawn,
while biceps complain that little girls shouldn’t be able to climb so well and I’ll get up on that wall
to avoid serious time, and conversation of doom and gloominess.
Still, Ouch.
Life imitates Art
Friday, July 17th, 2009The Kindle is sort of a double edged beast.
On the one hand it provides you with an all in one elctric storage device that lets you keep and read all of your novels, papers and other purchased text products in one easy to use, operate and maintain device.
On the other hand it uses DRM. DRM, or Digital Rights Management, is sort of the post modern devil. With DRM companies no longer sell you the media (the book or publication) but access to it. Access that they maintain sole ownership and controll of.
Well what does that mean? It means they can take their media back at any time for any reason. It means they can limit the number of times you can access the media, it means that as long as they have some wierd clause like “we reserve the right to modify this agreement at anytime without notifying you” they have said rights.
For instance you can check here and here, to see some of the pitfalls of DRM.
Welcome to theĀ post-modern corperate ownership culture.
