Raining on My Head

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

It’s lightly raining and kind of nice here.

Chilly and a bit overcast.

More hardcore exercise today and that’s okay too.

Children of the Spiders

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

A day of rest to insulate me from all that exercise.

I might go for a hike and do some yoga, maybe the pushups and situps, but no hour and a half sessions in the gym or running for the day. You know take it easy as they say as I feel sore.

This town needs a giant steam room methinks.

Roses are red,

Violets are blue,

I’ll go eat dinner in a cafe,

and so should you!

Another exercise-tastic day, filled with unpacking, lifting weights, yoga and a short run with no agonizing shin pain! yay!

Oat meal and lentils do a body good I guess.

Also I’m having a lot of progress in lifting the heavy metal things department and I am very very happy to report that my apartment is beginning to look like a place that I live, which is ironic in that my lease is up in just two months or so and I’ll probably be looking to move some place else. Here’s to irony.

Now all I need to do is wash my slightly smelly clothes and build a bed and I will be all set to move! Yay, go me.

So Damn Juneau

A busy busy day!

Back to work and working out, you’ll be happy to read that I ran today amongst all my other amazing achievements.

Wo Wo.

I hit the Gym, and did a least as good and in some respects better than the last time I was there, biked about Six miles and snuck a mile and a half run into there somewhere. Then I paid the next two months of my student loan bill.

Today is the day for Superman, we have met him and he is I.

Convoluted enough for yah?

Sitting for lunch in a square in this town
(this town that I’m new to),
new fellow from my new town sat me down
and explained it to me:
how when I spin from him I spin from myself,
the center can double the speed of the crust.
Thank you, my treacherous friends.
I’m cringing for myself when I cringe for you.

Perhaps I am being a little cryptic.

I had a great day, even if I’m missing people who are far far away.

How do you say that in Norwegian?

A Weekend Without Consequences

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

Hidy Ho there reader. I’ve been basking in all of the goodness that is Anchorage,

A life without Oatmeal, a life with good coffee and well, you know “interfering.”

I go back to Juneau tomarrow and I’ve been kind of missing it, the way everything is green and wet and the mountains are right there.

Also the Gym, I’m missing it.

It’s almost been a month since I last ran, which means I start running again on Tuesday or Monday or something.

Have a funny.

And other Lyrics from the Doors

Monday, July 14th, 2008

This is the end,

Well it is my last day in Anchor-town for the following bit. Yesterday I mailed 900 lbs of stuff to Douglas so hopefully I’ll have a more home-ie-home, something that feels more like the place I live and less like the place I stay while I’m waiting for my pay check.

I haven’t worked out, I haven’t run but I have walked about 15 miles in the time I’ve been here. It’s been a great vacation filled with seeing people I haven’t seen and being vaguely naughty. More power too me and all that.

It’s been a grand old time, for these fallen lowly years, fallow if you will.

Plus when I get back to Juneau I’m going to turn this laptop into some kind of Linux box, so there!

Anchors Anchors and Anchorage

Saturday, July 12th, 2008

Life, quite apparently, goes on in Anchorage and while it may be pleasantly spiced with basil, it seems kind of far away from Alaska, as compared to Juneau. I’ve been reliving my youth wandering around Anchorage with only my trusty leather shoes for propulsion and it’s been quite a nostalgic experience.

Makes me feel lazy and kind of happy.

Terrible things and Lovely Incidents

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

It’s a rough day for the home team.

Practically everybody in the Senate rolled over on the Telecome immunity bill. Wohoooo! Now telecom companys are immune from prosecution (in civil court) from the illegal actions they took at the behest of the POTUS. wo wo. Go Democratic Senate.

You can read all about it here.

Big money once again breaks the law and wanders off giggling.

Anyway fortune passes everywhere and all that. I’m going to get all of my personal effects and move them back down here tomarrow. Go me.

2PM Saturday

Saturday, July 5th, 2008

I’ve had a wonderful couple of days,

freed from work early on Thursday, Friday off and now Saturday, I could get to like these three and a half day weekends.

Luckily there’s more in store next week.

I think cafe und kuchen is the ticket for a perfect afternoon.
