Low Expectations

After todays run, that seems to be the key.

At least it was faster than Tuesday.

Lazy Wednesday

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

I got paid today, and I planed to do a lot of active things out in the world, but instead I stayed in and fooled around on my computer.

Blah.

I had a fun filled exciting weekend that involved quite a lot of hiking up things and getting sunburned.

My installaton of Ubuntu 8.04 is complete and I’ve got more work to do to “integrate it into our workplpace soultion” or whatever.

Also I need to call my relatives.

Journalism

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

I may not be a smart man, but I know what bad journalism is.

Bad Journalism means reporting only good things and mentioning that there has been “some controversy” to ignore dissident opinions, especially when those opinions are erudite and thoughtful.

Sometimes it’s difficult not to jump on the bandwagon and come on in for the big win with the home team, but before we all break our arms patting ourselves on the back, should we make sure we’re doing the right thing?

How more cliche can I make one run on sentence anyway?

And besides the whole premise is that these sexy teens would be willing to do anything for another hit of meth, who could possibly think ill of such an advertisement?

All Gentlemen and Lobsters!

Another day of wandering about in the sun (Yesterday). I followed a troupe of theater interns to the Mendenhall glacial caves, saw the blue, blue ice often represented with badly painted Styrofoam and was amazed to touch ice so clear and perfect the edges of said ice were invisible.

That’s an awfully long sentence.

Also, I watched the play “Yellow Man” and it was wonderful.

Plus I tried to chop off the last knuckle of my middle finger. What a silly thing to do, it bled every where.

Sentimental Gentlemen…

A lovely day in Juneau sunny, warm and perfect for hiking around and eating Gelato, which I did.

I’m happy sore and sunburned, but my legs are still fish-belly white so everything is right in the world.

This may be a little disturbing.

Letters From the Editor

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

Well it’s been a blessedly quiet day today.

I’m going to try out the latest ubuntu Distro (8.04) on this here laptop as part of my continued interest in professional development and seeing how this whole free/open source thing works out.

Also I ran at lunch today and while there was only a little shin splint unhappiness (no more than normal) my run time sucked. Such is life.

Pro-Tip

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

I’ve got a lot of stuff going on right now and the sausage is frying.

It’s true.

I had a very busy Monday from start to finish and Tuesday, as days of rest go is very busy too.

Monday had the best Run in a long long time, I almost did both halves in under 10:00, with the second half clocking in at 10:19 it makes me, broken and old though I may be, have a little more hope.

Followed by Bike Riding, Jump-In-To-A-Headstand Yoga, and grocery shopping it was a very busy day, and then I bike out and back to and from a dinner party.

It was one of the actors last nights in town and he invited me over to his house for yummy homemade food, which included (I was most impressed with) homemade apple sauce, yum! There were half-a-dozen or so people there and I had a good evening all though by the time I got back home I just passed out.

Today was not nearly so interesting although I did make some Lentils.

Sloth, Envy and…

What can I say it’s a slow news weekend.

I just curled up in my apartment and watched the rain happening, else where.

I’m visualizing a shin-pain free week, so I’ve holed up here intent on not doing anything to silly.

We need more funny, something about the below is awesome.
